Where I’m drinking wine in Brooklyn

As a sommelier, these are the spots I keep going back to.

Returning to Brooklyn with a shiny new wine diploma has really opened up a whole new world of opportunity for me. Specifically when it comes to the restaurants and wine bars I wouldn’t have thought to explore. When I had the time (and the budget), I used to chase after the best foodie spots to go in the city. Now, I chase after wine.

This summer, I’ve let my curiosity dive me deeper into my borough and find all of the places with the coolest wine lists. Food is a plus, and don’t get me wrong, all of these places I have listed here certainly do have delicious food. But there’s something about going to a place that has really dedicated themselves to getting the best wine in their cellars, and making it a forefront part of the entire dining experience.

Keep in mind, I’ve only been back in New York for a few months now, and a majority of my time I have slaved to the tune of “breaking into the wine industry.” But for those rare moments I do get a night off, I’ve been able to find some spots that I think are worthy of your attention.

So if you’re planning a trip to New York City this fall or winter, or heck, you’re in Manhattan and need an excuse to head over to the best borough in the city (😈), then here are some of the Brooklyn spots I frequent for a glass.
